THE CLINIC AND DEMO TOPICS, DATES & TIMES are as follows:
WHAT MAKES A GOOD HORSE, A GREAT HORSE, AND A SUPERIOR HORSE?
Saturday, May 4th, 1:00 - 2:50 PM
What are the qualities that manifest themselves in these three different types of horses? How do you reach a higher training level with your horse? Ken Davis will assist the clinic participants in discovering what level of horse they are on, and why, and then how to begin to acquire the skills needed to bring their horses to the next training level.
** SPACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE TO RIDE IN THE CLINIC. CONTACT KEN AT 804.796.2600 FOR MORE INFO **
GROUND WORK GUARANTEE!
Friday, May 3rd, 1:00 - 1:50 pm
First Bank & Trust Company Pavilion
What are you accomplishing when you "just lunge" your horse? Ken Davis will demonstrate groundwork that will vastly improve the communication between you and your horse. These exercises will accomplish what is needed most between horse and rider: getting the horse's attention, gaining respect, and more by speaking to them in a language that they can understand. Learning and practicing this groundwork can just about guarantee the discovery of, and the elimination of many problems we have with our horses.
TRAILER LOADING: TRUTHS & MYTHS
Saturday, May 4th, 4:00 - 4:50 pm
Exhibit Hall Arena
Learn what it takes to get your horse to successfully SELF LOAD. Ken Davis' techniques demonstrate how to safely and quietly teach your horse to self load. No more pushing and pulling and frustration for you and your horse when it comes to trailer loading. With Ken's technique you will find that you have a willing and confident horse who will self load seamlessly.
CATCH AND RELEASE
Sunday, May 5th, 11:00 - 11:50 am
Why is it important for your horse to come to you in the pasture? How should he and you "meet and greet"? These techniques set the tone from the very start of your handling of your horse, which makes a huge difference in your groundwork, your ride, and just about everything else that comes with working your horse.
OPEN FORUM WITH A BROKE & A GREEN BROKE HORSE
Sunday, May 5th, 2:00 - 2:50 pm
Question and answer session. Ken Davis will have a broke horse and a green horse for demonstration.
